1 DAY EARTHEN BUILDING WORKSHOP - ADULTS
Spring 2024 Dates
9th March, 16th March, 18th April, 20th April
9.00 - 17.00
The adult course will cover a wide range of topics relating to the construction of an earthen building. You will gain theoretical and practical knowledge on: building regulations, designing with passive solar and energy saving principles, earth's thermal mass for storing heat, materials/tools needed for building process, planning and building the roof, testing your soil, how to mix material with correct clay-sand ratios, foundations, drainage, stem wall, building the walls (with different methods for load-bearing walls or wall fillers), inserting window frames, earthen plasters, earthen floors, advantages/disadvantages of earth, combination with other building materials, performance of earthen homes during the summer and winter, and much more.
We offer a plant-based food with refreshments
throughout the day.

Building with earth is loved by all ages, so we'd like to make this experience available for families with children, allowing the younger participants to pioneer in their creativity while being supported by parents.
During the family workshop we will construct a bench - playhouse.
We offer a plant-based food with refreshments
throughout the day.
Contribution: 45 Euro per person (aged 7+)
Children aged 6 and younger are welcome free of charge.
